  • What Exactly Do Neurtoxins Do? (Neurotoxin Brand Names Include Botox, Letybo, Dysport)
'Neurotoxin", "Toxis" or "Tox", known by their brand name Botox, is a versatile elixir, not only for smoothing out life's little wrinkles but also sculpting and rejuvenating in ways that are nothing short of magical. It can delicately slim and contour the face, bringing a more defined, elegant look. When applied to the forehead, it smooths away those persistent lines, including the "angry 11" between the eyebrows, creating a serene and untroubled expression. In a graceful dance, it can lift brows and alleviate the weight of hooded eyes, opening your gaze to the world with a renewed sparkle. Under-eye bags, those unwelcome reminders of fatigue, are diminished, allowing your true vitality to shine through. Expressive lines on the nose, often a canvas of our emotions, are gently eased, maintaining your character while adding a touch of refinement. Tox can even perform subtle tweaks to the nose, lifting or lowering it to enhance your profile. For those with a gummy smile, it can lower the lip just enough to balance your grin. It relaxes the muscles that pull down your smile, making it easier and more natural to beam with joy, transforming a downturned smile into one of radiant happiness. The lower face and neck are not left out of this transformation. It contours the lower face, lifts the lower chin, and slims the neck. This not only adds to your aesthetic charm but also reduces the risk of developing a 'turkey neck.' Beyond its aesthetic prowess, Tox also harbors a secret superpower. It aids in alleviating symptoms of TMJ and can boost the uptake of serotonin and dopamine, those feel-good neurotransmitters. This means it not only refreshes your appearance but may also help lift the spirits, combatting seasonal depression and fatigue. It's like a comprehensive package of rejuvenation for both your appearance and your wellbeing, sparkling with the promise of renewed vitality and radiance.
  • How Will "Tox" (Often Known as the Brand Botox) Work?
Tox works by gently calming the muscles. When injected, it blocks the signals from the nerves to the muscles, preventing them from contracting. This relaxation of the muscles smooths out wrinkles and fine lines, creating a more serene and youthful appearance. It's like pressing a gentle pause button on the muscle's activity, allowing for a refreshed and smooth look. 🌟✨ More medical- tox, a purified form of botulinum toxin, operates by inhibiting the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter, at the neuromuscular junction. This blockade prevents muscle contraction. As a result, the treated muscle becomes temporarily paralyzed or weakened, leading to a reduction in the overlying skin wrinkles and fine lines. This effect is both localized and temporary, as nerve endings eventually regenerate, restoring muscle activity.
  • How Much Does Tox (Often Known as the Brant Botox) Cost?
It is generally calculated at a flat rate of 10 per unit, although it is important to note you are also paying for your injectors skillset and expertise. The treatment cost is tailored to meet each individual's specific needs, with the quantity of tox needed varying to achieve the desired results. Essentially, the total cost depends on the number of units used, which is determined by the patient's unique facial structure and the extent of muscle activity. *Radiant Health Solutions offers complimentary consultations, this is the perfect time to meet our team, discuss your goals, treatment options available, and obtain education on procedures and cost.
  • Are There Any Downsides to Tox
There are very few downsides to tox treatment. It is important to note that some patients may feel the temporary side effects after treatment such as bruising, swelling, or redness at the injection site, headache, flu-like symptoms. In our quest for aesthetic splendor, it's essential to recognize that while we aim for perfection, the art of facial enhancement with toxin treatments, like Botox, carries a whisper of unpredictability. The muscles of the face are like dancers in a ballet of expressions, moving in harmony. So, when we make a subtle change to one, such as the chin, it can subtly alter the performance of its neighbours, like the mouth. It's a canvas not just of beauty but of life's experiences. Stress, daily routines, and repetitive motions weave their stories into our muscle anatomy, reminding us that no face is a mirror image of symmetry. But fear not, for in our hands, we hold the most advanced techniques, a blend of art and science, striving to bring balance and symmetry to your unique features. As we embark on this journey together, remember that each face is a masterpiece of its own, with its quirks and characteristics. Our goal is to enhance your natural beauty, embracing and celebrating the uniqueness that makes you, you. The radiant outcome, a harmonious blend of symmetry and natural charm, is always our guiding star.
  • What age should you start Botox?
This comes down to preferred facial aesthetics. We do not inject patients under the age of 18 as a general rule, but some of our younger patients (early 20’s) have what is called “baby tox” which is a light treatment to decrease facial movements, and preserve the skin. The average age of starting toxin in our clinic is around 28-35. Toxin treatments are no longer anti aging or age reversing, they are beauty preserving, contouring, facial symmetry or slimming treatments. The true answer is, over the age of 18, and when YOU decide to.
  • Can you stop Botox once you start?
100% you can stop whenever you like. When you stop having treatment, the muscles slowly begin to gain more movement, and the skin will be appreciative of the time spent relaxed from the movement. Stopping will never leave you worse than when you began.
  • Is 50 too late to start Botox?
It is Never to late to start tox treatments! Self care has no time limit. This is a perfect time to relax and look a little more refreshed.
  • How can you tell if someone has had Botox?
We are proud to say that at Radiant Health Solutions, it is often hard to tell if a patient has has treatment due to Nurse Cheryl's naturalistic approach to treatment plans. When following a radiant treatment plan, patients have all of the main “tox tell tale signs” treated as to keep your treatments as private as you like! We like our patients to maintain enough movement to look natural, yet refreshed while meeting their aesthetic goals.
  • Can Botox left jowls?
Yes and no - by having a tox treatment of the upper face, the cheek is often lifted and repositioned on the zygomatic arch, which lifts the jowl. Our team is trained in full face and neck treatments to help prevent and alleviate issues such as jowls or “turkey neck”. In most cases, if a notable “jowl” is present, filler is very useful in the correction of this common sign of skin laxity.
  • Will Botox work on deep wrinkles?
No two wrinkles are ever the same! Toxin can effectively smooth our lines in many cases, but there are times when additional steps such as microneedling, skincare and fillers may be called to action to help! Imagine a fresh set of sheets that have been folded in a package for a long time, although washing and pressing (toxin treatment) the sheet can lessen the appearance of the line, it often takes multiple treatments and methods to get that line to dissipate.
  • What is bunny nose after Botox?
“Bunny nose” is often caused by the failure to treat the nasalis muscle on the nose. At Radiant Health Solutions, we believe in treating the whole face as to avoid this issue. When you treat the forehead, 11 line and crows feet, and leave the nose untreated, patients often get the “tox pull line” under the eye, and the nose will move more “like a bunny” as the nose is making up for other muscles' lack of movement.
  • Can Botox left eyebrows?
Yes! Toxin treatment around the eyes is the most common treatments. Patients can have a “brow lift” that just smooths the forehead, 11 line and lifts the brow higher/ creates a new shape or gives symmetry. OR they can also treat the crows feet and nose to give the eyes a bright open and rested look.
  • Why does Botox make your forehead shiny?
Tox can close your pores and improve the texture of your skin. When this happens, the surface of your skin is much more smooth. As a result, when light reflects off your skin it produces a glow that you can see.
  • What is gummy smile?
To treat a “gummy smile” we inject toxin under the nose to relax the LLSAN muscle (evator labii superioris alaeque nasi ) This is the muscle that lifts your upper lip when you smile. By relaxing this muscle with toxin, we can lower how far the lip will lift when smiling or talking.
  • What is the chipmunk effect after Botox?
Tox is able to slightly lift the fat pad of the cheek higher on the face, but cannot add bulk to the mid face. To add bulk to the mid face, fillers would be needed. At radiant, we use fillers to provide structure and contour more often than filling the cheek. This limits the risk of looking unnatural after treatment.
  • What is pillow face from Botox?
The general public is often put off by the appearance of some who have been overfilled with filler, leaving their face round and pillow like. When patients have a brow lift, this can shift the path of lymphatic drainage, which can cause the accumulation of fluid under the eye, leaving a puffy look! Good news, Nurse Cheryl has an easy solution for this common issue!
  • Which filler is best for face?
We prefer to use fillers that are bioidentical to the human cell, spherical and round. Why? We believe that by using fillers that are shaped like the human cell, when it comes time to break down that product, the body will know how to effectively remove the filler from the body, instead of causing migration. ! We choose fillers that are free of animal products, which makes them safer for individuals with allergies and sensitivities. We like fillers that are biocompatible and biodegradable with thixofix cross-linking technology. Why? This proprietary bonding process creates a smooth, natural-feeling gel, and makes the filler last longer than similar products. We pride ourself on using fillers that feel natural, because we want our patients to LOOK natural as well!
  • How long do facial fillers last?
On average a filler lasts 9-12 months. But every patient is diffrent! Some patients metabolize faster than others, meaning they break down the filer faster than others. Areas that have a lot of movement are more prone to break down faster than other areas as well. Nurse Cheryl often talks about how her left cheek needs filler touchups every 9 months instead of 12 as she sleeps on her left side!
  • How much are face fillers?
Fillers average from $700-$800.00 at Radiant Health Solutions. It is important to remember that you are not paying for the product used, you are also paying for the expertise of the injector. Medical aesthetics is not like going for a pedicure, or a wax, therefore, you should not bargain shop for your injector. You want your injector to be someone who values your goals, safety and keeps up to date with best practice. This will insure you receive proper care and medical treatment.
  • What happens to your face when you stop using fillers?
In an ideal world, when injectors are using the proper techniques that only lift and support the skin, fillers will not leave you worse off than when you started. We choose to use fillers that will stimulate collagen regrowth to help brighten and tighten the skin while offering support. Therefore, if you have fillers, and choose to never have them again, your skin will still be better than before you ever had fillers. The filler will slowly begin to dissolve and fade away after time, leaving skin that has more collagen production than before, and is thankful for the time it spent with a filler in its dermal layers.
  • Does your face sag after fillers?
This comes down to injector technique. We believe in lifting the facial tissue laterally with a dense HA filler, before ever adding filler to the mid face to avoid a heavy middle face. If the facial tissue was sagging before the filler was placed, once the filler wears off and is not maintained, yes the skin will naturally begin to slowly go back to the way it was. Our goal is always to LIFT the skin and provide structure, without leaving you looking overfilled or puffy.
  • Do fillers lift jowls?
YES, YES, YES!!! Fillers can make a world of difference when it comes to jowls. Radiant Health Solutions often recommends having a filler treatment and tox treatment to sculpt the lower face. It is important to remember that our skin did not age overnight, and that one session can do wonders for results, but patients often need a treatment plan over a few months to sculpt that masterpiece that is their face.
  • How long does it take for face fillers to look good?
We show our patients the split face difference when they are sitting in our injection chair (one side treated and one side not) and each time they are blown away by the difference! Most fillers draw water in over 24-48 hours, then begin to settle over two weeks. This is why we like to see our patients after 2 weeks, to ensure they have the best result possible!
  • Are face fillers obvious?
We like to keep our fillers natural, leaving you looking like your best refreshed self, without anyone noticing, unless you want them to!
  • Do fillers really make you look younger?
Fillers offer structure and support to the skin. As we age we begin to loose the collagen, fibrin and elastin of our skin, our facial fat pads and even our facial bone structure. All of these things provide structure to the skin, and help our skin stay smooth, tight and youthful in appearance. When we inject fillers, our goal is to replace the structure that the skin has lost over time, which will lift the skin back to where it once was. Long answer short, Yes, fillers can make you look younger!
  • What do you look life immediately after fillers?
Each patient will look different after fillers depending on their treatment plan. If using a dense filler that is used to replicate bone/ lift the skin, patients often see much of that result at the end of the appointment. If a patient has received lip filler their lips are often slightly swollen after each appointment. Some higher volume fillers intentionally pull in water to help lift and hydrate the area, therefore the patient may appear puffy right after the appointment, but this look will fade as the filler settles. You can go back to work after having a dermal filler if you wish, there is no down time to these procedure. Patients can have hematomas (bruising) or tenderness from face fillers, and we always do our best to mentally prepare them for this.
  • What is the best age to get filler?
This depends on the patient. At Radiant Health Solutions we do not inject fillers on patients under the age of 18. Each patient receives a personalized assessment and treatment plan, led by their own personal goals! We teach our patients how to do the skin laxity test to see if they would benefit from filers. Fillers can also be used for facial slimming, contouring, and providing symmetry. Therefore there is no best age to get fillers. We are seeing most of our women getting fillers from age 28 (preventative fillers/ Contouring), to mini lift at age 30-45, and a supportive lift 45-65. Each patient is diffrent based on skin laxity, genetics and how they treated their skin over the years.
  • Do fillers ever look natural?
Our goal at Radiant Health Solutions is to always make fillers look natural! We are quite good at achieving our goals!
  • Are fillers better than botox?
Fillers and tox are two different medications. Fillers are used for adding volume and providing structure to help lift, support and hydrate the skin. Tox is used for relaxing the muscles, causing smoothing of skin, slimming of bulky muscles or muscles that are pulling on the skin in a negative way. You can use fillers without tox, and tox without fillers, but they work well as a team to give the natural and refreshed look you are looking for!
  • Do fillers age you over time?
At Radiant Health Solutions we avoid overfilling, which causes the skin to stretch out. Overfilling can lead to creating more laxity. Our team is known for helping patients who have been overfilled in the past gain a more natural and youthful look again.
  • What is the most natural looking filler?
We believe that fillers look most natural when injected to replicate the structures that your body naturally has on its own! For example, adding cheek filler to the zygomatic arch to lift the face as this bony prominence naturally would! The natural look is more about skillset and technique vs the filler used. We are all about the natural look!
  • How can you tell if someone has a filler?
If patients have had subtle fillers injected to look natural, you often can’t tell! Some patients like a larger bold lip, which makes it easier to tell they have had filler. We encourage our patients to explain the look they are going for, which we use to build their personal treatment plan!
  • Who should not do filler?
Patients under the age of 18 Immunocompromised Patients on active treatment for cancer, or treatment within the last two years. Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Patients with bleeding disorders.
  • Can face fillers go wrong?-
There are risks when having fillers. Patients must remember that fillers are a medical procedure. There are risks for hematomas (brusising), swelling and tenderness. There is risk for vascular occlusion when injecting fillers. At Radiant Health Solutions, we pride ourself on using the safest techniques possible, while staying current in safety guidelines and best practice to help minimize risk to our patients. Before your filler treatment we will discuss saftey, risks and our emergency treatment plan if there were any issues from fillers.
  • What happens if you don’t like your fillers?
If you don’t like your filler, we can always help you reverse it! We inject Hyaluronidase into the area with filler to dissolve some or all of the filler.
