My Story
Medical Director, Nurse Cheryl
I come from humble roots, growing up in Dartmouth, raised by my loving and humorous newfie parents. Home to me will always be the shores of Cape St George Newfoundland, where I spent a lot of time visiting each year.
My friends, family, and clients have always known me for my loving loud personality, but I often admit that I struggled with a speech impediment until I had speech therapy in grade 5. I couldn't even say my own name. My mother worked as a registered nurse and my father was a stay at home dad for many years of my life. As a young child, I can remember my mother sewing me fancy home made dresses, but feeling embarrassed as they were not the expensive store bought ones that other kids had. Through my life I was often bullied for wearing the “Zellers” brand while the other kids wore GAP. Having glasses, a speech impediment or crooked teeth can make you a target for bullies. I am thankful for my Mom who worked over time to afford speech therapy and braces. This experience taught me the strength of a fighter that I still possess today.
Why I opened Radiant Health Solutions?

I opened Radiant Health Solutions as a way to escape burnout in healthcare. I got a taste of medical aesthetics when I started my career in the burn unit, and I have always had a passion for beauty and art. I began my journey of medical aesthetics with the long-term dream of opening a medical clinic that would increase access to medical care and women's health care in my community.

I am the proud mother of 3 girls. When I'm not spending time with my girls and husband, I am passionate about learning and researching about positive mindset training, trauma healing, meditation, and the latest advanced science in medical aesthetics and health.
I'm proud to say that I have ADHD (as well as my daughters), and my brain functions a little differently than others. I openly admits that I cannot spell, yet graduated at the top of my masters in nursing class at Dalhousie University. This is balanced by a scientifically-gifted mind has given me the ability of supercharged learning, I can skim a page and download the information into my head like a computer.

When it comes to medical aesthetics, my brain works the same way! I can look at a face, picture all the moving parts, determine what is needed to achieve a patient's goals, and bring that vision to life with ease.
My patients often describe who I am to them. The answer will vary, but I'm most proud that many consider me a friend, a mindset coach, a safe space to feel seen and heard, a cheerleader, confidence booster, trauma healer, health care provider and the most down to earth crystal-loving positive vibe injector they have ever met. I want to encourage all of us strong independent women, and help every other woman along the way be and do the same.

Cheryl Lyons
Radiant Health Solutions Inc. was born from Cheryl Lyons' lifelong commitment to women's holistic health.
Her approach, grounded in her personal experience with diversity and overcoming learning disabilities and ADHD, is a testament to the belief that dedication and belief can manifest wonders.
Cheryl's personal journey mirrors the passion of our practice: nurturing self-worth and achieving personal goals is the cornerstone of contributing positively to the lives of others.

Beverley Smith
Beverley is a Registered Nurse working for Radiant Health Solutions. She took her training through THMA consulting who are accredited through the Canadian Nurses’ Association and are recognized by the Nova Scotia College or Nursing as an evidence-based source of knowledge. Beverly became a nurse and chose the healthcare field because she wanted to bring comfort and happiness to people, which is something cosmetic injections allows her to do. Her passion is to help others feel more comfortable in their own skin!
When Beverly is not wearing scrubs she can be found enjoying time with family, friends, and her cat, Hoyt. She can’t wait to meet many different people through Radiant Health Solutions and bring comfort and happiness to their lives through cosmetic injections.

Master Esthetician
Jennifer Newton
Jennifer was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Her journey into Esthetics began in Vancouver. Jennifer knew she always wanted to stand out in her industry and did so right from the start by attending Blanche Macdonald's Esthetics and Spa Therapy program. Being Canada's top school for Esthetics training Jennifer was exposed to a wide variety of services in both Classic and Medical Esthetics. At the age of 19 Jennifer completed the Esthetics program and returned to Halifax. Through continuing education keeping her current in her Industry she has held her Master Esthetics License since 2017.
She and her partner welcomed their first son Nathan in March of 2022 and he's the joy of their lives.
Client relationships have always remained a high priority for her. Her space will always be a place you can come to relax whether that means grabbing an hour of quiet time, venting about a bad day or just catching up like two old friends. She's excited to old and new faces and to start her journey at Radiant Health Solutions.

Darren Blackadar
Darren Blackadar is a native of Pictou County who has developed a passion for health care and has dedicated his life to this pursuit. His professional journey took flight with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Saint Francis Xavier University where he worked in the corporate world for several years. After several years his attention turned to his true passion. health care.

To this he set off to his alma mater, Saint Francis Xavier University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with an Advanced Major. From there he landed in the often challenging and exciting world of the Emergency Department which he worked for several years. This allowed his to sharpen his advanced nursing skills. Is was during this time that he earned his Master of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner from Athabasca University.

Darren has worked in several areas of Nova Scotia as a Nurse Practitioner including the Mobile Clinic, Amherst emergency department, One Door Chronic Disease Clinic, Parrsboro Primary Care, Parrsboro Urgent Treatment Centre, Primary Care Access Clinic as well as geriatric care just to name a few. This has allowed him to broaden his experience in the pursuit of excellence in his field. Darren’s attention will be focus on joint assessment and treatment of same often using injections. Other areas of focus will be skin ailments and the use of small surgical procedures to remove skin lesions. Darren also has a strong background in primary care.

Darren will continue his journey of excellence in health care to provide a lasting impact on the residents of Pictou County and surrounding area

Jenna’s passion for her work is made very evident, as her primary focus is driven by her desire to empower others and boost their confidence.
With a commitment to making a positive impact, she specializes in aesthetic treatments that go beyond skin deep. Jenna's goal is to create a space where individuals can embrace their unique beauty and feel confident in their own skin. Through a blend of medical expertise and a passion for uplifting others, she strives to bring out the best in each person she works with, fostering not just outer radiance but an inner sense of self-assurance.
